Our journey began in 1854 in Louisville, Kentucky when a German immigrant, Gustave Bittner, opened up an interior design studio and custom wood shop. Understanding the art of woodworking, he used old world craftsmanship techniques to create custom, handmade furniture. Not stopping there, his team provided interior design services to their clients as well.  The Bittners’ brand of uncompromising quality took hold and spread throughout the country.
